The Heads of State and Government who participated in the 2nd Mini Summit of the CIRGL on the political and security situation in the Central African Republic, held on Tuesday, April 20, in Luanda, decided to form a working team, led by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Rwanda, in collaboration with the Central African authorities, to work on the implementation of the recommendations arising from the consultations carried out with the armed groups

During the Mini Summit in Luanda, the Heads of State and Government carried out an in-depth reflection on the situation in the Central African Republic and decided to engage the Heads of State and Government and international partners in achieving peace, stability and security in the Central African Republic, in the spirit of the script for the Republican Dialogue
They also decided to carry out in-depth work with the Central African Republic on cross-border cooperation, with a view to studying mechanisms that could allow greater control over their territory, as well as the importance of international community support for regional peace efforts. and stability in the Central African Republic, namely, in the implementation of the APPR-RCA.
While the 2nd Luanda Mini Summit was taking place, the statesmen received the sudden news of the death of Marshal Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad, for which, in the Final Communiqué, the Heads of State and Government expressed their feeling of regret for his physical passing, which took place this Tuesday in his country, and they presented their condolences to the Chadian Government and People and to the bereaved family.
The 2nd Mini Summit of the CIRGL on the political and security situation prevailing in the Central African Republic was held in the wake of the Mini Summit in Luanda, on 29 January this year, and was invited by João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola and Acting President of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL).
The event was attended by Denis Sassou N’Guesso, President of the Republic of Congo and acting President of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS); Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda; Faustin Archange Touadera, President of the Central African Republic; Lieutenant General Ibrahim Gabir Ibrahim, Member of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan, representing General Abdul Fatah al Burhan, President of the Sovereign Transitional Council of the Republic of Sudan.
Also Marie Tumba Nzeza, Minister of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs, representing Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo and President-in-Office of the African Union (AU); Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Minister of Foreign Affairs, representing Paul BIYA, President of the Republic of Cameroon and acting President of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), as special guest, as well as Ambassadors Gilberto da Piedade Veríssimo, President of the ECCAS Commission and João Samuel Caholo, Executive Secretary of CIRGL.
